Privacy policy
What Meridian collects, why, and your choices.
The short version
We collect what Meridian needs to connect founders, we show other members only what you choose to make public, we never sell your data, and you can delete everything at any time.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, password (stored scrambled, we cannot read it), and two-factor settings if you turn them on.
- Profile: name, company, what you are building, industries, what you are open to, links, photo, and your city with its approximate map position.
- Private details: your date of birth, kept only to check you are 16 or older and never shown to anyone.
- What you do on Meridian: posts, replies, messages, requests, introductions, meetups, circles, saved founders and reports you file.
- Payments: which connect packs you buy and their status. Card details go straight to the payment provider; we never see or store them.
- Technical: the device and browser you use, and, if analytics are switched on, which pages you visit, to improve Meridian.
How we use it
To run your account and the map, to suggest weekly matches, to deliver messages and notifications you asked for, to process payments, to keep the community safe (including reviewing reports), and to understand how Meridian is used so we can improve it.
Who can see it
Other members see your public profile and what you post in shared spaces. Messages are visible only to you and the person you are talking to. Meridian staff can access account data when it is needed to support you, investigate a report, or keep the service secure, and every staff action is logged.
Services we use
We share only what each service needs: Supabase (database and accounts), Resend (email), ImageKit (photos), Paystack and Bachs (payments), and analytics tools such as Google Analytics or PostHog when they are switched on. They process data on our behalf and may store it outside your country.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. When you delete it, we delete your data within 30 days, except payment records we must keep by law.
Your choices
You can see and change your profile and which parts of it are public, turn email alerts on or off, block anyone, download what you need, and delete your account at any time from your settings. You can also ask us what we hold about you.
Changes
When this policy changes in a way that matters, we tell you in the app.
